Millions of people chat on Facebook everyday but a chat messenger from Facebook officially was not available. Facebook and Google+ are in tough competition and both social networks are coming up with new features. Facebook recently introduced the Timeline which is being slowly rolled out to everyone.
Facebook is currently testing a desktop messenger for Windows which enables you to chat with your friends and receive notifications on your desktop.
Here are some screenshots of the application.
The chat window appears in the form of tabs which looks very neat. I've tested this application for over a day and it works without any problems.
The application is very quite basic, it displays all online friends and also notifications as a ticker. You can also dock the application to the right of Windows which will make it visible all the time.
Currently there is no option available to update status via this application but you can expect this feature in the future releases. The application is however not officially available to download to the public but was made available to the testers.
