Google has recently announced that they can now block specific blogs on Blogger/BlogSpot for individual countries. Twitter had made a similar announcement some time back that it can now block some tweets on per-country basis. This will allow Google to block content on specific countries which violates the local law while keeping it online to the rest of the world.

Visitors from India who visit any Blogger (BlogSpot) blog will now be redirected to a .in domain of the URL. Which means if you blog's URL is http://www.example.blogspot.com visitors from India will be redirected to http://www.example.blogspot.in. This change is currently only visible to visitors of India, Australia and New Zealand and is slowly rolled out for users of other countries.

Google is in the news again. Google is planning to redesign all its brands and now the plans are to rebrand all non-Google name brands like Picasa and Blogger. Its time to say goodbye to Blogger and Picasa because Google plans to rename them as Google products. Blogger and Picasa are one of Google's most popular services and its likely that Blogger would be renamed as "Google Blogs" and Picasa as "Google Photos". It is also expected that Google will rebrand several other Google products but not YouTube, probably due to the failure of Google Videos.

Blogger today announced its new interface which has a new elegant design for Blogger In Draft users. The new interface was much awaited by everyone and was only available to a few handful people who were picked during the initial testing period. The new interface is completely different in design from the previous interface. Unlike the previous outdated design, the new design is clean and looks elegant. There is no activation or sign up process involved to get the new dashboard for yourself, simply login into your Blogger account from draft.blogger.com to get the new user interface.
