Mozilla officially announced Firefox 6 recently. Firefox 6 was available for download on their FTP servers a couple of days ago though Firefox was set to be announced today. This lightening fast pace of the release of browser is a response to Google Chrome, which periodically updates itself with regularly. The Firefox 6 final is now available for download for Windows, Mac and Linux. The Firefox 6 does not bring any changes to its UI [User Interface], but it includes a substantial speed boost of about 20% claimed by Mozilla over its previous release.

Here's whats new in Firefox 6 :
- The address bar now highlights the the domain of the website you are visiting.
- The new permissions tool will allow the user to control which information a website stores (Location info, passwords, cookies etc).
- Fixed several stability and security issues.
- Improved web console and a Scratchpad tool for developers testing JavaScript within the browser.
