Android Pro Widgets - Best Widgets for Android

Android has the best room for customizations. While searching for Widgets for my Android device I came across Android Pro Widgets, probably the best widgets I've ever used. I've tested these Widgets for many days and found that these widgets can be easily customized according to your needs. I've tried and covered every feature of this app, and if you're a power user and want the best out of your homescreen widgets you should definitely check out Android Pro Widgets.

Introduction

Android Pro Widgets are a set of widgets of different types which are available for both Android phones and tablets. Below are the list of widgets which come bundled with Android Pro Widgets.

Main Features of all these widgets:

• All the Widgets work on both smartphones and tablets running Android 2.1 and above The widgets are available in different sizes so that you can customize the widgets as per your need and the homescreen space available to you.
  
• Some of the widgets show resemblance to HTC and Launcher pro widgets, but these widgets has some better features.
  
• All the widgets are scrollable, which means you can view more content in your widget just by scrolling it. Your homescreen launcher i.e. the homescreen app that you use should support scrollable widgets but nowadays devices from almost all manufacturers including Sony, HTC, Samsung etc. support scrollable widgets. Also, 3rd party launchers like Go launcher EX and Launcher Pro support scrollable widgets.
  
• For launchers who don't support scrollable widgets, this app even works there. Scrolling buttons appear on the widget which enables you to to access content.
  
• Auto and Manual Refresh Options.
  
• Theming options like text shadow, text size selection, etc.

Functionality

1. People Widget

Available in 2x4, 3x3, 4x3, 4x4 widget sizes.

Scrollable widget.

Option to choose between 'list' and 'grid' view of contacts.

In edit mode, you can choose the default action for any individual contact.

The widget offers you to display only the contacts you want i.e. From 'all contacts', 'favorites', 'Google contacts' or 'starred in android' contacts, etc.

2. Messaging Widget

Available in 3x3, 4x2, 4x3, 4x4 widget sizes.

Scrollable widget.

Option to display messages in the widget as 'Inbox', 'Inbox & Outbox' or 'Threads'.

Clicking on any message thread takes you to the default messaging app in your phone.

Also, if you click on the image of the contact in the widget, it pops up the quick contact badge for you to contact that person in your preferred way.

There is a button on the widget that allows you to mark all unread messages read i.e. just at the touch of a button.

Option which easily allows you to create a new message.

3. Calendar & Agenda Widget

- Available in 3x3, 4x3, 4x4 widget sizes

Calendar widget

• Displays a monthly calendar in a widget! - Shows all your birthdays and events of your friends and contacts from Facebook and Google - The dates in the monthly view having events are highlighted with a triangular arrow at the right hand corner of the date

• Not scrollable but there are scroll keys provided to switch between months.
• Clicking on any date shows all the events on events on that particular day in the widget itself
• Option to add a quick event (Quick event is a free app which comes with android pro widgets).
• Click the Agenda button to view all your events and birthdays of all your contacts.

Agenda Widget:

• Displays a scrollable list of all your events and birthdays of friends. 
• Clicking on any of the event or birthday takes you to the calendar app in your phone.
• Events and Birthdays are very well separated with dates.
• Option to add a quick event (Quick event is a free app which comes with android pro widgets)

4. Bookmarks Widget

• Scrollable widget.
• Available in 2x4, 3x3, 4x3, 4x4 widget sizes.
• Display all your bookmarks from the default android browser or the MIUI browser or the miren browser as per your choice.
• Option to display bookmarks in a grid or list view.

5. Facebook Widget

Available in 4x2, 4x3, 4x4 widget sizes.

Shows all your news feeds from Facebook in a scrollable widget.

You can like and comment from the widget itself through a pop up on clicking the individual feed without having to go to any app or the browser.

Option to switch between your profile and news feed view.

Option to update your Facebook status through the widget.

6. Twitter Widget

Available in 4x2, 4x3, 4x4 widget sizes.

Shows all your tweets in a scrollable widget.

You can reply to tweets from the widget itself.

Option to view your tweets and followers.

Option to update your status on twitter.

(You also get an extra free widget called "Say What" which is a 4x1 widget which lets you update your Facebook status or lets you tweet instantly through the widget itself, without having the need to go to the respective apps or the browser.)

7. Timeline widget (Requires license key)

Timeline is a scrollable widget which displays your Facebook and twitter feeds assembled in one widget.

The rest of the features are the same as in the Facebook and twitter widgets mentioned above.

Available in 4x2, 4x3, 4x4 widget sizes.

8. Google Reader Widget (Available as a separate download)

A scrollable Google reader widget.

Works with the official 'Google Reader' app.

Works on both smartphones and tablets.

Works on all homescreen launchers.

Scroll button comes into play for launchers who don't have scrollable widgets support.

Very easy to use and a properly functional feed display from your Google reader app.

License Key:

Android Pro Widgets license key unlocks all premium features for just 2$. If you like the application you should consider buying a license key and support the developer moreover you get access to premium features. Below is the list of premium features.

Verdict:

Android Pro widgets are probably the best widgets available for Android as of now, which offer excellent widgets and customizations. It is a must download for Android power users.
