Mozilla Firefox 7 Released with Better Memory Management and Improved Speed

Firefox logo
Mozilla released Firefox 7 recently which promises that Firefox would consume less memory. Firefox was known to consume a lot of RAM, which made it a memory hog. Mozilla promises that Firefox 7 would consume upto 50% lesser memory than its previous versions.

Firefox 7 gives tough competition to Google Chrome, but I in my view Chrome is better as it consumes lesser memory and is smooth. Firefox 7 is fast, speed at which tabs open and start-up time has improved but I still feel there is friction when I use it.

Mozilla has adopted the Rapid Release Cycle, which rolls out updates at a faster pace. There are add-ons which become incompatible with an update, which is an issue to be looked upon. Firefox 7 speeds up HTML5 content by using the computer hardware to accelerate Canvas.
