Google recently announced Google Takeout, with which you can download all your account data stored with Google at once. You can download your data from Picasa albums, Google+, Google Buzz, Google Circles, Google Profile, Google Contacts and Stream. You should download your data from Google Takeout at least once as a precautionary measure.
Email - how much does this matter to you? A lot isn't it? I'm sure most of you have a Gmail account, because it is one of the best web based email. Google backs up regularly and has some of the biggest redundant data centers in the world. But you can run into serious problems if you lose access to your Gmail account, it gets hacked or if the services are down.
